How can i learn french free and fast?

Hi, basically i really want to learn how to speak french. I have a small amount of understanding from school but i want to be able to learn enough to have a good french convo with someone. Not just what they teach you in school like ' I want to buy a pencil'

I have no money so i'm wondering if i can learn by using free content on the internet. Maybe iTunes podcasts etc.

Thanks for any info, and any stories about your own learning would be appriciated.

  1. Podcasts are good; there are several that are good. Look into these podcasts: Learn French By Podcast, Coffee Break French, and Katia and Kyliemac Learn French. There's also a Survival French, but all the information in that podcast is covered in Coffee Break French.

There is a website called http://www.learner.org that has a program called "French In Action" which is entirely in French.

I would also recommend going to your local library and checking to see what they have in their language learning section.

Also, what would really be helpful is if you can find someone to speak French with; this will really help your comprehension.

  2. Go to Learner.org then choose from the menu languages then French in Action. I like this 52 part french course that can be viewed on line after you sign in free with the Annenburg web site. it is very reputable. You can also buy the written materials for the series used from Amazon. I listen to the show while working on something else to get used to the sound of the language.
On you tube I also found some good people to subscribe for their lessons. Good luck with your learning
